Duncaster’s Caleb Hitchcock Health Center Receives Highest Statewide Rating

BLOOMFIELD, CT, Aug. 16, 2016 – Duncaster’s Caleb Hitchcock Health Center recently earned the highest rating from the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The Connecticut Department of Public Health’s rating’s highest rating designated the Health Center as being “clinically deficiency free.”
“This rating from the State of Connecticut is a testimony to the hard work, dedication to residents and careful documentation by both the administrators and the staff and we are very proud of them. The rating tells the public that Duncaster’s health center provides the highest quality service and care to residents,” says LaShawn Price, Director of Nursing Services, Duncaster’s Caleb Hitchcock Health Center. The ratings look at health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
The Caleb Hitchcock Health Center at Duncaster has 60 Medicare-certified skilled nursing beds for those who need either long-term care or short term rehabilitation. Its rehabilitation services include physical, occupational and speech therapy seven days per week. Residents participate in therapeutic recreation, fitness programs and cultural programs. It has an on-site chaplain, dietitian, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, audiologist and beauty salon. Those needing long-term dementia care or hospice care may also receive those services at the Health Center.
